About Nancie Meng
Nancie Meng, Cultural Care Au Pair’s local coordinator for Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore, supports host families and au pairs. She also spreads awareness about the flexible, truly affordable, and intercultural childcare experience provided by the wonderful young women and men who CCAP recruits, screens, and matches (through three specialized matching processes) with participating families in her area and beyond.
Quality childcare has always been an important issue for this mother of three grown daughters and grandmother of a toddler. In addition, her experience as a ‘military brat’ in a family that traveled extensively taught her the value of intercultural exchange and its effect on shaping our knowledge of the world and the other people who live around it.
“While my children were growing up, we hosted young people from other countries whenever we had the opportunity. What we learned from our guests and our memories of their visits… priceless! ” Meng says. “For families concerned about the economy, quality childcare, and an enriched experience for their children, Cultural Care Au Pair provides real value and I love telling parents about the program.”
A full-time online media consultant, Nancie Meng decided to join Cultural Care Au Pair part-time in 2008.
“Cultural Care Au Pair provides me with the chance to assure that young men and women from other nations have good experiences while visiting our country as au pairs. At the same time, I have the privilege to assist and support families concerned about quality in-home care for their children,” says Meng. ”Also, as an empty-nester, my association with CCAP keeps me connected to young people. I have grown to care deeply for and enjoy the families I support.”
